What is the mileage? I wouldnt say anymore then 1000 and with higher mileage probaly 800. What condition is the top in. If that is bad deduct the cost of that and you have your answer.

The car is at a body shop. All the body work has been done and its primed black. No rust from what i can see. It has one small rip in the top, needs a clutch and about 55k on the motor they just put in. And it started right up and sounded good. I told him i will give him 1k for it.

That'd be a good car for your son's first. Get it restored to drivable and your son would be able to beat the local high school ricers but still not be too fast to be dangerous for him.
