I was drving home today, and I saw a friend that I've cruised with a few times. I believe it's a 96 Cobra, if not I know it's a 97-98. Not positive on all his mods, but he just got some Mickey Thompsons DR's on the rear with some 15/16 inch drag rims. He said he ran a 13.1 a week ago and was shooting for 12.9's tomorrow. Anyways, we decided to have a little fun at a stop light, we didnt even have 1/8 mile of a stretch. Probably just short of the 1/8.

Anyways, he even told me that I might get a better launch. (I would think he would with MT DRs.) BTW, I still had on my 245/45/17 WINTER tires. Anyways, we're both launching and light turns green, I got about a 3/4 car length jump, and stayed actually ended up about a full car length ahead. We had to brake at about 60mph. I was veryyy surprised that I stayed with him, much less possibly beat him for the short distance. With him on DR's and manual and me being an auto.

My short story, I gotta go race him legally now at the track!

I ran a 96 Cobra with boltons at the strip and beat em by 1.3 seconds...I was overjoyed for a few moments so I know what your saying. But either his car wasnt runnin right or he just couldnt drive cuz he only ran a 15.3:wallbash:

 

before i put the charger on i ran a 98 cobra with the same outcome. he had long tubes x and catback. he said he would kill my auto because he runs 13.4-13.3's at the track with street tires. at the time i was stuck at 13.5's. either he busted the tires loose or he was lying because i took him by a car lenght.

good kill. my story for today some guy in a 88-93 GT 5.0 revved on me and sped off. i waited till he got stuck behind a car floored my car at 40 and let off so he could hear the sweet sounds of a bypass valve in action psshhpsshpsshh then i pointed and laughed at him.

 

HAha wish i could have seen his face, he probably felt like a total jackass
