Wow that sucks. I know a guy that has a fox body. He had something done to it at a wal mart service center amd they didn't completely latch his hood. He got onto the highway and wrapped it over the top of the car. Screwed up hood, cowl, windshield and roof. There's a reason some mechanics work at wally.:loser:

I thought it was common sense to replace with hoodpins after an aftermarket hood? lol

Why is it just aftermarkets that have majority of the problem? I am thinking of getting them for my new hood now so I don't lose it. A friend of mine had a Ranger with a built 5.0 and a 6" cowl. 45 mph going down the road and it flew up smashing through the windshield. He had a slicked and painted dashboard and it smashed through that also. Didn't lose the hood though. Fiberglass held up and stayed on the truck. Bad part was, a guy was driving down to buy it that weekend so he had to repaint the hood, roof, get a new dash and re-slick it and repaint it before he came.

The aftermarket hood's don't have all the steel holding them on the car. They don't latch that great with the stock hood latch.I took mine off completly!!

I love my hoodpins. I think they look really sharp on cars if you get the right ones. Cheap hood pins look like ***..you get what you pay for. I got mine from the Steeda website for $20. They are some of the best ones I have seen.
