hah yeah i was a late bloomer, but that was because it was drive early get a grand am, drive later get a Mustang... I drove with my dad in the car for the longest time, as i learned how to drive manual, then i just took the test and was done...lol I wore my class B's to the test cuz I gotta outa school early, and the instructor didn't even do very much, he just closed his eyes and kept saying good, and gave me my licensce...LoL...now i'm after my non - alcohol restriction card...lol stupid laws how can i go to prison for the rest of my life at the age of 18 and not be able to enjoy a few beers with the boys...

yes i've heard the arguement against drunk drivers being younger, but thats not true, and #2 drink driving will never be ok? letting 18 + yr olds drink doesn't condon drunk driving?... sry didn't mean to steal the thread...congrads man...

I don't know about you guys, but when I got my license, my instructor played like.. mind games with me. For instance in Connecticut, instead of parallel parking, we have to reverse into one, and if you are on the white lines or over them you fail... the catch is you're not allowed to check and see if you're in them or not, its pretty much a 50/50 guess. So we tested in a Ford Focus (although I trained in a 96' V6 Mustang) so it was a little bit different from the Mustang... but I knew how to reverse and I did it right on the first try, and the guy went.. "Alright, thats it?" and I would go, "Yep.", "Are you sure, because if not I'll fail you right here." ... "You're sure? Don't want to re-align it just to be safe?"

And it wasn't even like he was joking about it, he was honostly being a dick. And he did that throughout the entire test, "Are you sure you can go right on red?" "Are you sure the speed limit is 25 or are you just not sure so you're doing 25 to be safe?"..

But congratulations dude, sorry for the BS story.. you want to know the secret behind driving (Especially now that you have a Mustang)... its always the other guy, you can be in control of your own car but you gotta be on the watch for the other guy... the guy that passes everybody in the turning lane to drive straight and the guy thats cuts you off when you're doing 45 and he's 50 feet up the road. Be save driva

On my day I took the road exam in my aunts Pontiac Grand Am 5 speed. I finished the test flawlessly, perfecto. The DMV gut failed me for speeding, he told me come back next and he'd give them to me. The next week i went and he gave them up, i didnt have to take the test again.

TRUE STORY. Got my license in 1976 on my b-day at age 16.. Was in my neighborhood and eased through a stop sign but didn't come to a full stop.. Guess what!!!

Got my first ticket. Failure to stop for a stop sign. The HP told me happy b-day after he wrote me up. I was devastated. This cop is now the head of NC HP dept. Geez he don't play. But... I've never had another moving violation ticket since. 30 years of driving, no tickets, no wrecks (that I was driving). (almost got killed a few times with my so called friends driving). And I have had many hotrods. I consider myself an excellent driver. Good luck on your driving experience. Just beware of all the fools on the road, and cops who play by the book..

I have been driving for over 20 years, and I still have a lot to learn. I have driven across country twice and I put on 60k+ miles per year. I have been to THREE defensive driving schools over the years. I probably drive more then 95% of the population. Do NOT believe for a minute that you are a good driver. Just think, your age group has the HIGHEST accident rate on the road...and that is including drivers over the age of 86. Each of those kids that wrecked all belived they were good drivers too, that is why they wrecked.

Drive safely

Yep, could never happen to me.. could never happen to me.. would never happen to me... then BAM, right into the tree... that **** changed real quick, but, it wakes you up a bit. For some of the people out there, all it takes is a $5,000 fix-bill to snap them back into reality.

I'm 16 and been driving for about 8 months and haven't gotten in one wreck or gotten one ticket so i consider myself lucky. Only one time did i about crash and it wasn't my fault. I got insainly cut off going home from work one night at 11pm and did a 360 in the median. If i woulda found that :censored: i woulda killed him

Lol thats exactly how I was. I didnt even get 1 point off of my driving test and according to the Driver's Ed lady, i was one of the best drivers shes ever taught(although i had been driving years before drivers ed). But about a month after I got my license, i take my eye off the road for a second and BAM! run into the back of some SUV. It was like at 10 mph or even less but it left a dent from the hitch in my bumper and i had to do 10 hours of Community service lol. In SC you can get your restricted at 15 and a half so i'm not even 16 yet until March 19th.
