Default Steel versus Aluminum UDP's

Im in the market for underdrive pullies. Im looking at the BBK set. It seems to be in my price range and I can get them through summit (I live in Ohio so with the free shipping it's like getting free overnight. I always get my parts in one day. two at the most )

I could pay the 20 or 30 more for aluminum if the gain is worth it.

The way I see it, aluminum is lighter therefore less power to spin, and although steel is more durable they are heavier so I would not gain as much as I could from a pully install?

Someone with more experience in this department, enlighten me. :helpsmili

Thanks in advance.

I can't exactly answer your question, but I would say don't go with BBK UDP's.....you want to go with either Steeda or March "non piggy-back" style. I've heard a lot of guys having problems with the BBK UDP. "piggy back' ride on the stock pullies, and basically bolt onto the old ones, which causes more weight. They also take up more space in your engine bay. They can also cause your balancer to wobble, which could cause crank failure.

Aslo, if you have a large stereo system skip this mod all together.

The picture on the BBK looks like it has a complete seperate crank pulley, but I could be wrong. I can post it up if you would be able to tell? I would hate to get them and find out they are piggy back.

As for system, I let the big guns go with the old car, now Im just satisfying the addiction for bass with two JL 8w1's and a matched amp so I should be fine there.

Anybody? I can't find a pully set for a 94 that isn't piggyback. They all seem to be 93 and lower, or 96 and up.

i like steeda's i had them on my f150 and now about to install them on my mustang. I just got a set used for 90bucks plus shipping all they needed was some paint and they look new. I suggest you look around for used ones you can find them.
