I'm pretty sure the 2003 & 2004 v-6 mustangs got 3.9L engines. He might be able to use 3.8L engine parts....not sure though. Call the Ford dealership and ask a tech, they would know.

also used in the thunder bird and i cant remember what else. it was newer birds ps. they make nitrous kits for them, he can tune it and find out what rear end he has and get gears also. my bet its a IRS 8.8 or 7.5 i am not sure i used ot knwo but i will have ot look tomarrow.

I just love cars, and i read alot. so i pick up alot of random info. the Ls is actuly based off the thunder bird platform. also i think someone makes pulleys for those now and they make super chargers.

From what I've seen crawling around under a buddies LS the IRS is an 8.8 diff but totally different from anything else I've seen in Ford IRS's.

(The following is second hand info at best feel free to correct it if it's wrong). From what I understand the 3.9L v8 engines are referred to as the Lima family. From what I've read on other boards the Lima engine is based on if not actually the same as the small Jaguar V8's. Power output is really nice for such a small engine. 280hp from 3.9L in recent iterations is really impressive.

yeah it is also used ot power the jaguar x-type i think too.
