highly techniqal question here
alright... well... my best friend has an 2001 lincoln LS...
its a great car... its got a 3.9L v-8... it has ***** for bein so slow...
however he wants to make it faster... he already bought CAI as well as exhaust... Both he had to have CUSTOM made...
did ford only use the 3.9 in the lincoln ls or is it used in any other car... finding parts for the thing is rediculous...

I just love cars, and i read alot. so i pick up alot of random info. the Ls is actuly based off the thunder bird platform. also i think someone makes pulleys for those now and they make super chargers.

From what I've seen crawling around under a buddies LS the IRS is an 8.8 diff but totally different from anything else I've seen in Ford IRS's.
(The following is second hand info at best feel free to correct it if it's wrong). From what I understand the 3.9L v8 engines are referred to as the Lima family. From what I've read on other boards the Lima engine is based on if not actually the same as the small Jaguar V8's. Power output is really nice for such a small engine. 280hp from 3.9L in recent iterations is really impressive.
