Default 05 rims on a 99

so i know the offset isnt right but how bad is it. i have a chance to buy the chrome 18" bullit style rims that came off an 05 stang.they have less then 10 miles on the rims and tires for 300 bucks. i need new tires so bad and this alternative is cheaper than buying new tires alone. so does anybody know how bad it will be ...or better have any pics?...ive searched and havent came up with much...

if they dont fit cant u just take the tires off those rims and put them on your current rims

then you could probally sell the rims for 400 and make a good deal here and make a big prophit

It wont work, period.

The offsets and backspacing are RADICALLY different. You are talking about a difference of a +22 (94-04) to a +45 (05/06) offset. That will move those rims WAY too far in, and will probably knock into your wheel wells. Not to mention that the tire diameters for the 05/06 are completely different than the 94-04's. Their sidewalls are higher and the overall size of the tire+rim is much larger. Your speedo will be FAR off with any 05/06 rims.

Stick with the rims that have the proper backspacing and offset for your car. Otherwise, you will run into mucho problems.

Heres your biggest reason why that wont work:

In addition to changing the load on the bearings changing the offset significantly will change the turning radius (of the tire) and may effect both steering response and steering stability.
Bolt Pattern
Moving your offset closer by 20mm is probably going to cause the rims to knock into your car and not fit at all, or if they do fit, cause serious weight transfer issues, turning issues, and weight load on the axles.

I have those 17" (polshied wheels) - they really look like chrome - u cant tell (bc i chrome buff them) come with cobra caps and great goodyears - 500.00 obo - they would really set of your stang - i have a vert 2 - bc really for the price of tires you could buy my rims - that are already mounted and balanced - if ur in my area i have a small shop and i could slap em for free...(not that its hard - lol) but anyway i need to move these things and they are a steal for that price! - email me at bransdaman78@aol.com for pics and details
