Default Shifter Gasket

I'm going to install my MGW shifter tomorrow, once my gears and shifter gasket from MT arrive. I was just wondering if the gasket provides a sufficiant seal, or should I add some of the RTV to it.

wtf gasket are you talking about? Everything needed for the install comes with the shifter.

he's talking about the gasket that has been created now to help cut down on noise when installing an aftermarket shifter.

I do not have personal experience with the shifter gasket to which you are referring, but I would imagine that it would be sufficient. Seeing as it is a "gasket," even though the intent is to cut down noise, it should be enough. I mean, it is not like there is a ton of fluid or anything that is going to escape through there anyway.

If you are unsure or uneasy, it would not hurt to put some sealer on there. Just some added assurance if you think you need it.
