Gas Smell?
I noticed today after I parked my car in my garage that I could smell gas real bad, this has never happened before, but I did drive the car pretty hard today. And even letting it sit for a few hours and driving it again, once it was parked the gas smell is still there.Anyone have any ideas?

start your car and rev it up via t/b and see if theres any fuel leaking out of a injector. have you recently changed plugs or injectors? i showed a guy on how to change his plugs and when he put his fuel rail back on he pinched a o ring on a injector. good thing i was putting in my 42lbers or eles he whould of been screwed. your intake tube might block your view so youll need a little mechanics mirror and a flash light. good luck

tell me about it I don't know what the :censored: is going on.there is nothing leaking anywhere on the car.But if you close the hood for about 20 minutes then open it up, it smells like pure gas!I'm lost. This just started yesterday.

If no leaks are present, check the Evap Canister Filter and its vacuum lines/hoses. The fuel smell gets terrible, and that is the vapors coming out of the tank thru a cracked canister filter or hose. In your case, the filter should be located in the right fender near the firewall. LUK

You don't have to have a puddle to smell astrong gas odor. Gas is extremely volatile this means that it will change to a vapor state very easily. This means that absent of a leak, anywhere where the fumes might be under pressure would make the odor very prevelent.
I think the post before this one might be sending you in the right direction.
If you had a fuel leak, you would know it by now. I had a fuel filter replaced once and they did not tighten it correctly. A lot of fuel spilled on the floor and the ordor was nto as bad as you describe.

I just had this same problem. The grommet between the filler neck and the fuel tank was leaking. This showed up as fuel running out onto the ground when trying to top off the tank.It was fixed under the regular warranty but I think this might be an emissions related issue and the warranty could be extended if this is the case.
