speedometer making noise

Default speedometer making noise
i have a 1986 mustang gt and the speedometer makes a ticking noise. the faster i go the faster it gets. its driving me nuts!!i pulled the cluster and lubed the cable and speedo but no change. please help

New cluster?

my pop's 87 f150 does the same thing... lmao... i know, its really anoying...

get a new cable or lube it again... new cable is probably your best bet...
