Default bye bye tires

any suggestions for a good performance tire that'll do decent in the snow? my tires are shot after WAY too many burnouts, i dont even have a 1/16 of tread left, i really really need new shoes! also will a 275 fit on my stock 17 x 8 rim?

Yoko ES100's are your absolute best bet. Great performance tire and will get you buy in the snow. There are an all season tire...not a snow tire. Also, check into the Kuhmo AVX (I think that is what it is called).

Default tires

Checked out www.tiresavings.com for the 275/40 17's.

Pirelli Nero M&S $156 (400 treadware, AA traction)

BFG G Force T/A KDWS $138 (300, AA)

Cooper SLE Sport $124 (360, AA)

Falken ZE 512 ZIEX $107 (360, A)

The higher the treadware number, the better the lifespan (if you can afford them, the Michelin Pilots have the highest ratings, but cost about $100 more than the Pirellis). The AA traction rating is about the best you'll find for non-snow tires or all-terrain tires.

This site has some of the best selections and prices on the web - but they are slow to ship your stuff, in my experience. Expect 2 - 3 weeks for delivery, assuming no problems (more time if they tell you they're out of stock).

I have pirelli pzero nero and i love these tires. At the track they turn really sticky with minimal spin if you learn how to drive with them. Great in the snow, and in rain as well. High traction rating and low treadwear. Id get em again if I need new tires.
