Personally I just made the switch from Mobil 1 to Fords Synthetic blend. As far as I know, mobil had switched from a pure synthetic to a synthetic blend about a year ago, so I dont see the point in paying 4 times the cost of a ford quart for the mobil. Ive noticed no difference, but there again, I dont pull the engine apart and check the bearings and all that. BTW, Mobil is like 4.15 a quart, Ford oil is about 1.18 a quart. Just food for thought. Oh, and half of the hardcore racers at modulardepot use the ford stuff and swear by it. Thats good enough for me.

Yeah I ws thinking about going to Amsoil. Because I dont want to go to royal purple because it's over kill and my Mobile 1 full synthetic doesnt last as long as it should. $25 for 5 quarts is a steal for full synthetic. What weight do you ise or do they have a 5w-20 in that product line?

Amsoil has 7k filters but where I bought mine from, they didnt have my filter so I just bought the fram 7.5k filter.

Ill end up changing everything at 5k anyways. Oil is too cheap in price to cheap out on for future problems.

Mobil 1 is still fully synthetic. I believe part of their base stock is from petroleum but that itself has been modified into a synthetic. Not that there is anything wrong with Fords brand but, a synthetic blend only has between 10 and 20% synthetic in it. Its more of a marketing gimmic to make you think its superior over regular petroleum based oil.

Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic 5w-30, w/ Motorcraft filter. I change every 3k miles. Might be overkill but nothing is too good for my Stang, keep her fresh

I use Royal Purple 5W-20. I like it alot... well besides the price being so much. My uncle owns a race shop so i get it at about the price of MObil 1 would cost me. I highly recommend it to anyone who is willing to pay the high prices.
