Living in the city its hard to really see what my car can really do and i'm just curious as to what the top speed is? I have a auto 98 GT.

I have a 98 Gt, 5-spd.(stock at the time) and I got it up to 135. Still had a fair amount of gas left to. To my knowledge Ford started putting a governer on in 99. Also keep in mind that if you are not lowered, the front end will come up at 160 and you will flip over at 180.

 

Yes that's true, there are alot of car that are faster than the Mustang. But, how often do we really open them up? I love speed but I really don't need to go 150mph. And I know I couldn't afford it if I got caught. I got caught once doing 61 in a 25 and I thought that was a pretty steep fine, I don't even want to think what 150 in a 65 would be.

Yeah but that 350z is a ricer. ricer have topend. the stangs a 1/4 mile car. plus the 350z is more dough. buy a stang and drop the extra cash in it to make it cost as much a the z car and itll crush it. but i do love the z cars. that probly my fav import. either that or the supras.
oh anyone know the z car 1/4 mile time?

155 is when the govener kicks in, so figure there is a tad bit of head room after that and its 4.5s 0-60. Theres a video of a cobra CONVERTIBLE doing 150+ on the autobahn with the top down.
GTs have been known to do 150 as well.

 

Here's mine at 140+ It made it up to 148 and I had to shut it down because I was coming up on other cars. I was in nowhere, TX on I-10 between El Paso and San Antonio.

 

i just did 125 in mine


havent found a good strech to really open it up yet, but i predict 130 -ish
