Default Electrical Problems with keyless entry and headlights....

Okay here's the situation....

I've got a 2005 v6, and back in January, we were slammed with four weeks straight of wet weather and torrential downpours (if you are reading this from the Baton Rouge area, you know what I'm talking about.)

Well, during this monsoon, I first noticed that my keyless entry fob had stopped working. Naturally, I went for the spare fob, but it wouldnt work either. So I changed batteries in each one....and still no dice. It wasn't a major issue....the car still runs just fine and I had no other problems, so I relegated the fob issue as nonessential for the time being.

But after the rains stopped I noticed something else....my headlights now stay on permanently. I've never had day running lights....but now if the key is in the ignition, the lights are on. Turning the headlamp switch to the "on" position merely makes them brighter.

I've pored over the Haynes manual, but this issue isn't really addressed...what am I missing? I'd really like to get something of an answer before I spend the $$$ to pay for a mechanic and/or new battery.
