yeah, i would like to beef up my 5r55 automatic tranny to the tci s/street fighter, but i hear of electrical/tuning issues. Anybody have any knowledge or hear bout the tci 5r55 issue. ? Thanks.

 

nope. I will say that it takes street tuning for ECM controlled shifts on automatics. They are time delayed shifts and cant be duplicated on the dyno. I had my 4R70W dialed in at the track...Shifts at 6k rpms everytime unless I spin a little too much out of the hole.

I figure it should be the same for the 5R's...plus SCT should have a tune value in their tuning software (PRP) to help make adjustments on a built and modified 5R valve body.

I would skip TCI and go with a Performance Automatic built 5R
