so my brother has a keyless entry on his 98 gt. i have a 96 v6. can i buy one of the 10$ ford keyless entry remotes off ebay and get it to work on my 96 v6 with the key turning method of programming? is there a way to tell if it will work or not just by looking at something on the car. i have power windows and doors

ok i bought a 8$ fob on ebay and looked up the programming instructions. in case anyone else was wondering,
u have to turn the key to on and go in the trunk, where the alarm module would be over on the LR kick panel there is a two prong connector, u just short that with a screwdriver and listen for the locks to cycle. once u hear that push a couple of buttons on the unit and go turn key to off. the locks will cycle again and it is programmed. bam 8$ keyless entry! make sure u are buying one for your year

A long time ago when I did this to my car all I did was cycle the key to 'off' and 'on' position until the door locks cycled and once that happened I hit a button on the key fob. Boom programmed. Maybe its different for the 96-08 models. But congrats on graduating to keyless entry!
