Mines doing the same thing, It's just battery acid buildup. Use some baking soda and water to wash it away. Just make sure you get the residue away from metal. I think the make some kinda of acid nuetrilizer spray to help keep it at bay. I still have my original battery from 2004. And still works great, but the posts are showing the blueish, greenish, build up more often. If you clean it up without using a nuetrilizer of some sort, Don't get it on your clothes or your skin for that matter. It eats holes in most stuff it touches.. Sulfuric acid can be dangerous..

Pepsi. Pour a few drops over the terminal. Let dry. Do again. Let dry. Do again. Let dry. You now have a crystalline coating of sugar protecting the terminal AND pepsi is great for busting corrosion off battery terminals. FWIW, The little felt pads that go under the cables on the terminals usually stop this sort of **** from occurring in the first place.
Battery acid is not that bad... **** you could pour it on your hands. Just wash it off really soon or you'll get a minor chemical burn. As for metals, clothes, paint etc... yeah, keep it off those. It's not going to help them at all.
