Default Too Loud

I never thought that I would say such a thing but my Stang is TOO loud.
I just recently installed a BBK O/R X-Pipe. I love the power but the resonation at highway speeds is a bit much. Any ideas on toning it down just a wee bit? How about baffled tips? Any suggestions?

I initially didnt like my exhaust bc its pretty loud(and I mean LOUD). But after you drive by enough peopole and see their heads turn as you pass by, you'll like it. Yeah it sucks if im trying to be quiet, but I enjoy it more than I dont enjoy it. Just stick it out for a few months. I'm sure you'll like it.

He's right, I thought mine was way too loud for a daily driver, but after a couple weeks, it doesn't seem loud enough. My only complaint is that the flows ping a little in the 2100-2500 rpm range. Other than that, I love the sound. My car is completely stock motor wise and no one believes it when they hear it (the average person).

You won't believe how many people will ask you at stop lights what your car has in it. Add a set of 17x10.5 and no one will even want to run you.

Mustangs are supposed to be loud, it is the good kind of noise. People will notice it in a good way on your car. They are pobably just tired of listening to ricer's pissed off bumble-bee, lawn mower plugged up with wet crabgrass, weed-eater shredding a wet paper bag exhaust.

yeah, I now catch myself around parking lots intentionally staying 1st gear up to around 4k and letting it flow back down. The crackling is a beautiful sound and most people like the sound. Those who dont like it are usually old fogies and they can keep their 2 dB jag-U-ar.

same here, when i got mine done, thought is was too loud. You will get used to it. Now that i have my S/C its even louder, however you can get some mufflers that can muffle it real well. The drone is from the mufflers not coming from the x pipe

I just put my SLP O/R X pipe on with my SLP LM catback, it is LOUD, i like the rumble until I hit about 2k-3k and it gets raspy, i guess I will grow to like it, I want to buy some cats just to tone it down alittle.

I had flows and a prochamber at first, and got sick of listening to the drone on the highway so I swapped out the flows for some magnaflows and it made all the difference in the world. If I want my car to be loud, I can make it loud, but I can actually make this exhaust be quiet if I need to. I love it.

I had to order myself the Powerflo Mufflers for my SLP LM1 because the SLP O/R X pipe I installed for some reason was making a VERY LOUD, not raspy but like my resonators were vibrating kind of sound, I think it could be the resonators, so I ordered the mufflers. I am going to check today and make sure everything is tight and everything. It just sounds like it isnt the right sound its supposed to make. When its below 2k its fine, but when it hits 2k then it makes that loud sound, and when I am on the highway and after it shifts and she stays in gear and I stay at 65mph, I don't hear anything, its like its only on acceleration.

It sounds like your pipes may be vibrating against your frame or possibly the gas tank. I had that problem after the first install and had to readjust things a little for proper clearance.
