Default Steering Column Removal

Does anyone have any experince with remove the Steering Column?

For awhile now actually I haven't been able to use the key to start my car or turn it off. Some how something broke that leads to the switch box. At the time I was only able to turn it on, but not turn it off. Well I've got it down to what the problem is now. I guess there is a rod inside the Steering Column that leads to the Switch Box, at the end I blieve there is a hook or something.

Since I don't have work and I'm on unemployment I'd figured this would be the time to take it apart my self. My problem is I'm curious to how hard it is to take it apart and put it back together. I'm not to worried about fixing the problem, I either have a friend that will do it or I will find a way.

Now if I take it to the only person nearby that will do it, he said it was like $300 all together or some ****. I'm sorry, but **** paying that much.

1995 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 - Ordered a new headlight header Panel, about to get a King Cobra Clutch Kit, new tires and maybe a Cold Air Intake.

E-Bay FTW

I ahd to do one in my '97 F-150 and it's not too bad. I grabbed a used one from a junk yard for $150 and just swapped it out. Regular tools, logical bolt and wire harness placement. It's cheaper to get a column without the airbag included so you'll need to carefully swap that over.. If you end up with a column with a different wheel color, you can obviously swap yours over. I think I remember needing a tool to get the wheel back on but I could be wrong.. getting it off was easy.

Thank you, but I'm not looking at to replace it. I'm looking at to fix this little pieace at the end of the column or close to it. My steering column is perfectly fine, just a pieace broke off that holds it's self on to the switch box, to be able to turn the car on and off.

I just haven't taken it apart because I'm afraid that I might wreck something putting it back together. So I was just curious if it's hard or not. Because I still want to use the steering wheel (or whatever it's called) buttons. LoL

Thank you!
