If it snaps you got bad luck, but hopefully not bad enough to where it gets wrapped up in your engine or etc. Btw whats with the gatorback belts and info on those? Ive never heard of em, how are they better?

They just grip better, I would not bother with that belt unless you really feel you need to do that. I have had belts break and it sucks. You can't drive the vehicle because the water pump is not turning so no driving it at all.

Well it does need to be replaced, I know for a fact just by looking at it and how tore up it is and it's just that time.

What does griping better do exactly? I'll be fine if it breaks though without wrecking my car? Because it's all TORE up and completely dry. Like there is no wax, grease, or whatevery on the belt. You can whipe it and nothing will come off, so clean. LoL I'm not sure if that's good or not.

Gator Belts - They sell them at AutoZone, I've seen them before.

Edit: Wow there is two kind of belts. Belt and Tensioner Belt?

What one, they have two different kinds of Gatorback and there is other kinds.

Edit: What about these?

If you had a supercharger and wanted to get some extra help with belt slip I would say go for it and get the gator back, but you don't so don't worry about it and get the cheaper one. Also belts are not supposed to have anything on them but the rubber they are made with. Otherwise they will slip on the pulleys. Of course you can use the crayon trick or belt dressing to help an older belt last longer.

I don't know why you all about rattle clips or whatever.

Why is Stephen banned, AGAIN? Na, I don't have a Supercharger, I wouldn't even bother with one until I got a newer model. Oh yeah, I did use the Crayon, but makes me think that's why it started doing this. What belt should I get, I swear there is two different kinds, without a SuperCharger. Like one with the AC and one without, I think.

Rattle Clips help keep your brake pads tucked in tighter. Without them the brake pads will move around and brake unevenly, which what mine are doing. I'm pretty sure that's why my rotors got warped. Otherwise they were brand new and it didn't take long to start ******* up.

Some cars run with one massive *** belt, for ac and etc. While some cars run two, im not sure what your car runs with, have to ask bassman or someone who knows.

WTF do you have? do you have an AC? If so then get the one with the AC or your AC wont run anymore.

If you get the wrong one you can take it back!

If I remember reading something correctly. If you remove the AC it gives you a little bit more power, that's why I asked. Thanks

It'll give you minimal hp gains because the belt will have one less thing dissipating the power transferred by the belt. But it's only really needed for 1/4mi runs, and honestly it's nothing noticeable. Maybe an extra 5 horses at the crank? so maybe 1 or 2 more ft pounds of torque...

I'd get the belt for your A/C because you'll kill your battery in no time with the shorter belt.

Yeah but nothing like removing 100 lbs off the front of your car.

As for the belt, get the length used for AC equipped cars. No point in eliminating it if you are leaving every part of the system on the car.

Update:
Yesterday I started up my car around noon, finally kind of cold. It was doing it again and I noticed that when I hit the gas a little it goes away, but I think it comes back.

I'm hoping that's the problem, I don't see why it wouldn't, but you never know. Mine doesn't even fully warm up and it stops. I think it's because the belt is so cold that it needs to spin a few times and then it's done. LoL
