Another problem at the HomeStead :(
2 months ago I had an electrical fire at the meter box. 4 weeks ago I discovered there was an issue with the hot water as you could hear the water running with no faucets inside the house on. I did recently change to a tankless but it was running fine for 2 weeks. Turns out the water supply line running under the house broke. I spoke to my neighbor and he had the same issue a few years back.
Apparently plumbers break walls first and ask questions later, lol. They dont fix holes so Im left patching up holes. I think Im going to leave holes in garage and just put an access panel. I already patched up the wall behind the kitchen and need to prime and paint. The good news is that we discovered that the pitch on the water oulet for sinks was incorrect and was casuing a lot of water to stay in pipe. I also put in an outlet since the wall was out lol.
The plumber ran new line in ceiling and recommends that builders do not burry water lines due to this issues. If I did not have high hats in my kitchen only other option would of been to break tile to run underground again or make more holes in ceiling.

Yeap, having a used home is not easy. This one has 20 years under its belts and those shortcuts that workers took when it was built is starting to show. I like to hook things up to make it look nice but doing repair work is blah.
Hopefully I can get done with the garage. When I think I am almost done something happens and garage gets trashed.

that sucks man.
i feel yer pain.
when they built my house back in 84 they used that polytube bullshit instead of copper. one of the tubes out of my hot water tank sprang a leak. too forever to find it cause it was so tony it sprayed out a tiny little mist. lol.
got it patched up, i havent gotten around to fixing it though. im tempted to riip out all the polytube and go all copper.
good times.
