Default Vibration Probs

Yes I know search the threads I did but did not find answer. I have that wobble/ vibration in my steering around 55 60+. I checked my front tires and they both still have the weights attached to them. I had them balanced maybe a month or 2 ago. I jacked up the car and looked for free play in the tires but found none. I have 17x9 fr 500 wheels with 275/40 kumho tires. My alignment is not recent recent but its not that old either. I did have an accident not to long ago but no suspension parts were even touched at all. Any input?

I think my car does that too, my first road trip and first time going over 100 is when I noticed it. Last Summer or so I went down to California and I wsa doing like 120 the whole way and racing with motorcylings in San Fransico on the high durning traffic. They're crazy going in between cars, but anyways. My car starts to like wobble at 120 or so. That's why I didn't go any faster.

How about air pressure in the tires?

If you had an accident, that could shift things around a bit. Personally, I would recheck all the wheel weights to be sure, recheck the alignment, and as mentioned, tire pressure could cause something similar. Other areas to look at are to see if anything is stuck to the wheels (dirt, snow, etc.) since it only takes a little to throw off the balance, if any bushings are torn, or if any brackets are cracked.

Have an alignment done, thats all it is. You can knock a front end out very easlily.

I am not surprised it shakes at 120 man. yours is fine though. Just be careful man doing a buck twenty may not be the smartest thing ever lol especially for a ong distance. I got my 07 up to 115 once and thats it. I heard the drive shaft and tires are rated for only 115 and its newer (20k miles) so i did not want to push my luck lol! Took it down a notch after that lol

On topic i say get an alignment first and then see.

really depends on how skilled the person who balanced your tires was.

Any input guys? Really need some info on this one. I also heard it might be the u joints going bad. I checked under the car today and while the cars rear tires are on the ground i did have a little bit of play in the driveshaft meaning I could move the driveshaft to either side about maybe an inch or half an inch. Would this mean U joints are going bad? Also I know that I need new shocks also bcuz my front ones started leakin could this also be a cause of vibrations that shocks need to be replaced?

You have a newer car too, mine is a 1995 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 stock with about 90k miles on it at the time. I didn't go any higher because of it or that because I didn't have enough room/time. My car does like to go off to the side, like it's not straight and when I slow down fast or anything like that it starts to turn one way, even with me semi holding the steering wheel tight. I had my alignment fixed and I don't think it did much. If it did, then it knocked it's self back.

What's the point of having it go 115 + if it's just going to get damanged. LoL

i have the exact same issue on mine around 60+ seems to me the kid that had it before me rode it kinda hard, i probably should get an alignment since i havent gotten one yet. seems like thats the popular way to go so i'll do that n see what happens. then again PA roads kinda suck to begin with
