Default '08 GT exhaust question...

I have an automatic vista blue 2008 GT.
Everywhere I go, it says I need hangars for my aftermarket exhaust.
1) Do I really? My car only has 4k miles...
2) If so, is there anywhere that I can get them for cheaper?
3) Why the hell would ford do that... dirty bastards.

Mileage has nothing to do with hangers. Whether your car has 4 miles on it or 40,000, the hangers will need to be replaced.

According to American Muscle's website:
"In 2007, Ford changed the style of exhaust hanger used to install the stock exhaust on the new S197 Mustangs. They switched from a "rubber and steel" hanger design to an "all rubber" hanger, which will not work correctly with the after-market cat-back exhaust systems on the market."

Don't go to a Ford stealership to get them. I replaced mine just due to rattling issues and they wanted to charge me $60 a damn hanger. I got these from AM and they are made very well, great quality, and I got 2 of them for the price of 1 that I'd get at the stealership.

Ford probably changed the design of the hangers to save money. As we all know, rubber is cheaper than plastic!

Blech. It's what i knew but didn't want to hear. I guess I'll have to suck it up and spend another 60 bucks for exhaust hangers... And another question:

I'm in between the pypes violators the MAC catback, or the pypes muffler delete. Has anyone heard these in person? and what's your opinion on the Violators vs. Macs (I understand what muffler deletes sound like, I'm a big SLP fan lol)

The pypes sounds super sweet. It's more of a raspy but bad *** sounding exhaust. More raw I suppose...

The MACs sound more subtle for your average joe...

It's all in preference honestly. I'd get the pypes but who knows. And sorry for the hanger issue....that's one reason why I got the Stinger S-Types...no change for them.
