LT's on a S197???
Does anyone know how hard Longtubes are to install on my '08? I REALLY want to get some, because for one it's cheaper to do that and get a shorty x-pipe than buy a full length and still have the stock manifold.....but I can't pull the block out and do it right now. Is it at all possible???

It wouldn't surprise me if it's much easier than on a SN95. I'd say take a look and see how hard it is to reach all of the bolts. If you can reach all from the top, it should be a breeze. If some on the top/bottom, kind of hard. Or if it's like the SN95 where engine tilting is required on stock manifolds, a royal PITA.

When I got my SLP's back in August, I took them to be installed by a performance exhaust shop. They didn't have to lift the engine to install them, but they did have to lift the car itself onto a hydraulic lift and remove the steering column and some other things.
The bolts on my '05 are not easy to reach from the top. From the bottom you probably could, but you'd have little room to work and you'd need a box of Band-Aids afterwards.
All in all, it is possible, but it will be a pain in the ***. Just save up your money and pay someone to do it.
