Question Tune Suggestions?

Well I am running a 2000 gt with full bolt ons. I think most of them are listed on my sig. Anywho I have a diablosport predator tuner. Its got tons of stuff to play and mess with but haven't had the guts to do it since its a DD. I would not be able to work without my ride as I ride around town mostly all day. Well I was wondering what else can I adjust on the tuner to give me more gains from the tuner. Could somone give me specific numbers on what has worked for you. I heard about advancing spark timing but not sure on how much to do it. Running 93 octance. Also adjusting fan temps on and off is messing with that anygood at all or no? If you guys could give me some advice on what and how much to adjust on any certain things with the predator. Greatly appreciated. It just seems like I can get so much more out of the tuner but am not . OH YEAH dyno tuning is kinda not an option right now very pricy *** hell here.

This isnt the answer you wanted but if you don't know how to work them or what to do with them youll probably end up hurting the motor. Id save some cash for a dyno tune, i know houston performance and other places are near you. hell i drive to louisville, texas to get mine tuned.

if you can't afford a tune, then you can't afford an engine rebuild either.

The stock canned tunes on those things while better or a little tame to keep it safe. You do not need to mess with fan settings as its not going to make more power. I only have mine changed on my nitrous tune to help keep the back 7&8 cylinders cooler due to a bad design flaw in the heads. Otherwise stock fan settings are fine. You could add some timing till you hear detonation, but if you don't know what to listen for its not the best idea. I guess really its what are you comfortable doing tune wise. Me I would have no 2nd thoughts about adding a bit more timing and taking out a bit of fuel. But that's me and I'm on the adventures side of things.

How do I know if I removed too much fuel? Is it possible to know without a A/F ratio meter or a wideband o2?

you can tell how accurate your air/fuel is under part throttle driving by monitoring the fuel trims on each bank, if you're rich it will be neg or trying to pull fuel out, if you're lean it will be positive and adding fuel. This will get you close for part throttle driving. The trims are usually good if they stay around +/- 5%. The computer will keep it where it needs to be for part throttle driving, The only way to know for wide open throttle is to either have a wide band or do it the old fashion way by making full throttle passes, killing the motor and coasting to a stop so you can read the plugs.

i found some adjustment on the diablosport website that some guys running gt's have used on timing they are 2.5+ on 2-4k and 4+ on 4-7. THey also said that knock sensor voltage should be 0v indicating no detonation or pinging. Does this sound about right?

We do not have knock sensors on 2v cars sadly or it would help us all out alot more.

Can't say because I have no idea what the timing is at right now. I take it this is just the stock canned tune they sell right? You can ask them for all the specs on the tune so you can work from there. That would be a good place to start, but like I said if its the canned tune they are still pretty safe and for a reason.

Why don't you just order a tune from sct. They're only $50...

You are right about learning things but at what expence. That learning curve could cost you a motor or some high dollar parts. Sick to the canned tune until you can afford a professional tune.
