Some tires are only available in certain sizes. You might want to goto www.tirerack.com and the others to see what sizes are available for the type of tire you are looking for.

radial TA's come in just about every size you can think of. But they dont go really low profiile. I put a set of 265x15x60's on the back of a 88 mustang if i remember on centerline 15x8's, Man they were tall tires almost 28 inches if i remember.
If you go to a lot of tire or rim sites they usually give you a recommended tire width per rim. Im guessing your looking for straight line traction.
I've got a set of nitto DR's i just got mounted on factory mustang 16" rims 245's
Hitting nitto's site for the drag radial sections shows 2 sizes for 15" rim
http://www.nittotire.com/tires_555r.asp
Height Rim size rpm per mile
P275/60 R15 107V 6.3 27.76 11.10 7.5-(8.0)-9.5 2150@44 748
P275/50 R15 101V 6.3 25.75 11.18 7.5-(8.5)-9.5 1830@44 808
I have a set of 245x16's, Yeah they arent huge and i would like bigger, but i love the sleeper look. I tested them out and it's crazy the improvement over some cheap 245 Futura's that were on my car when i bought it. I've already burned them up in 2 weeks. I've ran BF goodrich Drag radials 10 years ago and im very impressed with these nitto's.

i appreciate the suggestions i really wanted to put some traction ta's on but the largest size they come in was 225...what i already have on there and i would like to go wider so those are out...unless i end up settling for that size

I just went with, Nitto drag radials 245/50/16 on the factory rims yesterday. its like night and day over the futura pep boys brand that was on the car when i bought it, and i murdered them already.
Ive had drag radials in the past, Yes they get a lot less miles, But i dont get very many miles out of street tires that dont hook up.
good luck on your search, look at other brands. ive put 265s like i said on factory 15" rims and they were buldging. Look at better traction tires instead of super wide, Less weight and rolling resistance.
I used to get these recapped Goodyear eagles in the mid 1980s 225s, dont laugh, those retreads were like a dam slick at the track. They didnt last long though.
Ive been searching for tires for 2 weeks, Summers coming, and just the way this cars going to be driven, i chose the DRs. I have a F150 for rain and long trips.

ted is right about several things.one is dont just try to stuff a bunch of tire under your car,it wont necessarily give you traction, and could really slow you down and most definately will raise your gear ratio if you go taller.what you want to look for is the treadwear and/or traction rating.usually tires with high treadwear ratings are a hard compound tire and therefore dont offer good traction but they last longer.on the other hand lower treadwear ratings offer better traction they are made of a softer compound and dont last as long.this includes all of your drag radials and mostly all of your high end tires. treadwear ratings usually run anywhere from 400 being your harder tires to 100 and below your softer performance tires.

oh and one more thing about those recaps hes talking about retreads like they do big truck tires and those things can sometimes be better than cheater slicks at the track in fact some people use them for just that.
