Default What to do next??

Ok so now I have my suspension set-up the way I want minus the wider tires...

But, I need help deciding on what I should do next. I have a C.A.I. that I'm buying off of a friend's mustang that is getting repossessed by the bank, didn't pay his car note for like 6 months. But, I was wondering should I get cams next or would it be a waste since at the end of the year I plan on getting a supercharger?? So should I just stick to other pieces that won't interfere like headers, mid pipes, etc??? I want your honest opinions....

i would say that cams would not be a useless upgrade, because if you get some stage 2 s/c cams you will be set for your s/c..

as for the CAI i would get a tuner since yours is a 08, it will be of more benefit (if i remember correctly), also i would look at some new gears, i would probably go with a s/c i would get a pair of 3.73. that will have you set up pretty nice, get some headers, mid-pipe, and some new mufflers.

cams wouldnt be bad, but do headers/ heads and intakes help more on these cars with a supercharger?

and is it me or doesn't it say he has 4.10 gears and a tuner?

If you're going w/ a blower, than get blower cams, or cams that don't have much overlap. However, I'd go w/ headers and a new shifter, if you have stick. Don't go w/ too high of gears if you do get them since the blower will make those high gears not fun on the street.

I did read the whole post, I just failed to see that the gears were in his list of current mods.

Haha thanks guys. It's a common mistake I do it all the time to other people. Yeah i have the gears, the tuner, and the intake. I know I need to build the bottom end of the motor up a little too. But, I might just bore it out to a 302 and then hold off on the supercharger.

And yes, the heads and headers would make a bigger difference with a supercharger than it would on the stock car. For example the stock manifold on the Cobra isn't horrible, but after we switched out to some JBA headers we gained almost 30hp at 13lbs of boost. So I know it'd help a lot, but so would supercharger cams.....

Would putting supercharger cams on a stock motor be bad without the supercharger on there....low compression would suck *** without a power adder, am i right??

blower cams wouldnt be bad and would still gain but not near as much as if they were stup for N/A.

just put the blower on then mess with things. your stock bottom end can hold like 420-430rwhp easy with a good tune so why not.

I figured it would add a little bit more hp...Idk I might hold off on the blower until after college, or at least til I get good and settled in. I'll probably just go with N/A for now and save my money a little bit. I'm afraid to get too far into things and then lose the car as a daily driver.

you should get subframe connectors to really compliment the other suspension mods. they'll help you hook on the road a lot better.

The only difference between blower cams and N/A cams is blower cams have little or no overlap so as to keep as to not allow the boost pressure to escape the cylinders. N/A cams have some overlap so as to gain power to scavenging. So, you will gain power by running blower cams on a N/A car, just you won't get the power from having that bit of overlap.

Ohhh ok now I see. I thought it would mess with the compression. Thanks man that helps a lot. Who makes blower camsthat you would recommend to use? comp?

You can just add a supercharger now and it will make close to the max that the stock motor can handle. No need for other mods if you ask me till you get the blower and then want more or toss the motor.

if your thinking about cams then your not really gonna save awhole lot to just saving more for a blower. and a blower as long as the tune is good wont hurt to be daily driven.

No I know that, but I mean adding in the cams+the blower and whatever else, I just don't want to go too far. I'll probably just save for the blower like you said and then go for the Saleen built 302 later on when I want to toss the stock block. Thanks for all the help guys.

dont get greedy when you get the blower and youll be fine. a guy i know here on a procharger 11psi kit made 478rwhp and ended up blowing his motor not to long later. it was just to much.

i drove my sixer for along time with my procharger daily driving. if your not in boost it is like you dont have it and gas mileage is not affected on normal driving, only when you see boost.

Yea that's the way I was with the Cobra too. I put the smaller pulley on there, but knew it was way too much for a DD. I don't want to blow the motor, I'd much rather just run low boost and have fun with it.

Well since he is hell bent on a blower I figured I would wait till he has it and wants more, then tell him to spray it.
