Default Ideas post - For Rumblin_6.

Just to start off I know that this post is long. I am looking for input into the later stages for the project and I know that you are probably thinking you are nowhere close but I want to get ahead of it before I get to this point and become at a stuck rut more or less. I am looking for help from everybody. I don't care even if you have an 8 any ideas you come up with are great - please no 6 bashing. I also would like to have ideas from the ladies and not just the guys of the site, if we have any,

I have had this idea for awhile now and while it is not my primary concern as of right now it is something I have had on my mind. Ever since I started this project I have had goals and so far I have somehow managed to keep up with them.

The primary ending goal for this car is to have an awesome car that I can be extremely proud of, which is usually the same goal I have for every vehicle I have owned and modified. I have set limits and conditions if you will so that the project doesn't get out of hand. It is one of those things that I know can happen. I also am fully aware that I am building a V6 not an 8. I have had my share of 8 cylinders while fun they just don't cut it anymore! It got to the point that it was just too d*** easy to make them go.

This car is going to be well setup and a good street vehicle that can have some track potential. I really more or less have a game plan I guess you could say and I have posted polls to see what you guys think. It helps to get some additional direction that you might not other wise see. There are a couple of you guys on here that have really helped me a ton already just by reading old threads and some of the responses I have recieved.

The question that I am struggling with is in the style or looks department if you will. I have never been a guy that has a flashy car - its just not me - I like functionality over show. I have done hood swaps, exhaust tips and a few wheels and tint before but that is about it.

I was wonder what your opinions and or just plan thoughts would be. I am definately against badging it as something it is not. We have a ton of young guys around here (I call them living in a dream world or fakers for short). It absolutely irritates me when I see a V6 with a Cobra badge on it or a full race wing on it. It perfectly cool if you put a bumper cover or what have you on it but don't badge it as something it is not.

So what I am thinking and it is something my Dad thought would be b******n would be to make a car that would essentially look like a Bullitt Mustang Clone - but leave it the Redfire red since we both like (the color has really grown on me).

Here is the big thing though it would be badged as something Ford never thought of. It would be badged as something to do with bullitt or some variation of this but I wanted it to be creative we come up with the idea but are unsure what to name it. My Dad has a friend that is a machinist and he could cut it out for us.

Here is the basis for the look:

GT front bumper cover
GT rear bumper cover
GT fog lights
GT Hood
Black - FR-500 wheels (don't want the bullitt wheels) or CCW wheels
Bullitt Gas Door
(emblem on the trunklid) only emblem on the car
Spoiler delete.
Interior would remain basically stock. Except for a few billet pieces, and trim ring around the shifter.

Other mods are in my sig.

Windows would be tinted but not the driver and passenger side. I learned my lesson the first time. I don't live directly in the city like most of you guys probably do and backing at night is a nightmare especially out in the country or when it is raining.

What do you think of the overall idea? Please help me come up with a name!

Thanks.

Incase you were wondering this is ultimately what I want to end up with. Not real crazy but just enough to have fun with.

Check these out.

This is a Turbocharged 6er.

Video 1 and 2 are dyno runs the last one is the car driving.

I am kind of curious on value of parts listed below. I am thinking of starting little by little changing parts on the car that are a bit more expensive (I don't make the money I used to so it will have to be a little slower) and in order to do that I would need to start parting out what is on the car in conjuntion with what I would be purchasing. I don't want to do the internet thing if I don't have to - because I have no way to get the cash - I don't have one of those internet accounts and frankly don't want to deal with it. But at the same time there is not much of a market for these things around here and the guys that I know that have stangs already have there cars either done or are leaving them as is.

All I am asking is what the parts would be worth. I would like to get enough out of them that it helps offset the cost. This is also something that will not happen immediately.

All the painted parts are Redfire Red.

V6 Front Bumper
V6 Rear Bumper
V6 Side Skirts
V6 Spoiler
V6 Wheels with tires
V6 3.8 stock air intake w/ filter and snorkel
V6 stock shift handle and ****
V6 Hood Stock - (reverse style)
Mustang Fuel door
Possibly the seats (driver and passenger)
Possibly the stock gauges
Stock mirrors

Just ballpark it I don't expect you to go out and actually price it. Besides I don't think at this point I am close to doing some of the stuff. I just was curious as it would get me closer to budgeting for parts as I keep progressing.

You do not need a GT front bumper, just cut the slits out of the v6 front bumper and boom its a GT bumper. Then you can add fog lights there where they go from vmptuning.com they sell full kits with Ford OEM parts.

Yeah I know. Like I said though I wanted something different. I have pretty much drove anything you can imagine. I wanted the balance of a good running daily driver with something I could have fun with. If you seen the post above where I added the vids of what I think I am wanting as an end result these cars can be made into really decent dd with enough power for me but still get the reliability and mileage out of them. It would be cheaper to do a GT or Cobra but where would the fun be.

(Stangcharger what do you think?)
power wise it is easy. Save for a TMA turbo kit.

You will be able to hit 350rwhp easy with a turbo kit. this is the safe point for stock internals to last. keep the stock gearing with a turbo or go to 3:55 gears, but i wouldnt go higher. turbo like the stress on them rather than the gears.

at these power levels your gonna need subframe connecters and some lower control arms. Subframes will keep the frame from twisting which it will and the lower control arms will eliminate wheel hop.

if your wanting more than 350rwhp youll need to go forged internals. that can be done with
http://rpm-mustangs.com/product.php?...cat=250&page=1

This is what i have on my car and has been very good. RPM is proven in his parts, he has supplied parts to me, J and many others with high HP v6's and are holding up. _J_ makes 611rwhp @ 16psi on pump gas.

go with 8.7:1 compression. i went with 9.3:1 and i regret it. you can go higher hp with pump gas and more boost with lower compression. i will max out my pump gas potential at around 540rwhp give or take, then ill have to use race gas.

now while this will give you a forged motor and a turbo your not done. the tranny and rear wont hold together forver at those hp levels. so find a 8.8 rear and a tranny you like that can hold the power. I have a TKO-500.

might as well go 4.2L while your going forged, not much more work. hense the 4.2L rotating assembley i linked.

heads/cam/intakes will gain tons more power if setup for boosted applications.

basically i am just going over basics. You can make 350rwhp without having to change almost anything. but once you go over that amount and really start testing your parts will you start to run into trouble and run into spending a ton of cash.

my advise is to buy a turbo kit and make 320-350rwhp w/T-lock, then do the other stuff you want to do first, like the body and appearance. then decide if you want to go more at that point, cause that's when you really have to start spending money.

350rwhp is a deep 12 second car if not better. i ran 13.3@107mph 2.1 60ft with 301rwhp back along time ago.
