Default 2000 gt keeps stalling??

hello everyone. I need help. my pony starts fine, but when i take my foot off the gas pedal it stalls out. in the past it goes away after i run it awhile but yesterday it wouldn't stp doing it. i've done some searching and it looks like it might be my IAC. before i take it to the shop mon morning, does this sound correct? runs great starts fine, but i have to keep it up with my foot (on the pedal) to keep it from stalling. its not the ail filter or a clogged fuel filter as others suggested. any suggestions are welcomed thank you

probably an idle air control valve (IAC) but the idle screw may have just come out of adjustment, will it idle at all?

Just had a similar problem fixed on my '04 Mach. Does your car ever have that rich/gasoline type smell when it shuts off? Do you have any aftermarket parts on it?

if you have to keep your foot on the pedal to keep it idling after firing up than its your IAC....

give the solenoid part of the IAC a few light taps with a small hammer and see if that helps it out any...the thing could be sticking.
