Default just a Short Throw question.

how much better is a Steeda T5/T45 short throw shifter over stock? just wondering, cause the one i am looking at ( http://www.stangmods.com/555-7353-T5...sh-p/00035.htm ) is 170 bucks. says it will cut down on noise and vibration. i notice no noise, but i do notice a LOT of vibration on my shifter.

Aftermarket shifters don't cut down on noise and vibration. If you can't deal w/ either, you're driving the wrong car. However, it will make a world of difference in shifting since it'll make it shorter and more confident. Personally though, I like Hurst but to each his own.

I wish I could have saved cash by getting it that way but Hurst doesn't make it like that for the TR3650. However, I had to instead buy the handle and **** separate. Also, if you want much shorter throws, Hurst also sells the SST version that reduces throws by 40% I believe (vs. their regular shifter which is 30%).

You'll love it the moment you row through the gears for the first time with it. I never realized how sloppy the stock shifter was until I got an aftermarket short throw (Steeda Tri-ax for me).

Yeah i have a Steeda Tri-Ax as well. Its a good shifter....although, there is one small problem. My leather shifter boot used to be flush with the console on the stock, but is not with the aftermarket. I figure it is because the shifter is lower than the stock, but is there anything that I can do to fix this? I thought of maybe trimming the bottom of the boot, but I'm not sure.
