exhaust opinion
ok so im about to get my exhaust done next week and just wanted some opinions, my exhaust right now is completely stock, im either getting flow 40s or magflows, which do yall prefer and what type of sound do each produce? also am gettin a cheap X-pipe with it, a little confused on that part, b/c is my stock setup not a real H-pipe? always wondered that, whats the diff in an aftermarket h or x vs. the stock setup? thanks

All mustangs minus 05+ cobras have H-pipes from the factory. The H-pipe will make more torque then the X-pipe and makes a deeper old school muscle car sound while an x makes a higher pitched raspy sound like a European v8 car. Power difference is very small between the two so pick the one you like the sound of most.
Flowmasters are the biggest over bought and used mufflers there are and they don't flow nearly as well as many of the other muffler companies out there.
I prefer an H-pipe with anything but flowmasters on it.

alright, so if it comes factory with an H-pipe, then whats the advantage of buying an aftermarket x or h pipe? i can get an x pipe for 75 bucks not sure how great it is, but also when i chose the mufflers i think im going to go magnaflows after hearing what you said about flowmaster, but is there any differnce really powerwise between the 2? i mean i dont see a muffler adding much power anyways but still?

Look up the flow numbers they are posted out there if you search on flowmasters vs. other mufflers and flow does matter isnt that whole point to aftermarket exhaust.
The reason to go aftermarket on a mid pipe (X or H or Prochamber) is that they are larger in size (2.5" compaired to 2 1/4" stock) and even the catted ones flow much better as they use better cats and you only have 2 not 4 cats.
