Aluminum D/S ?
ok, i saw an aluminum d/s that i would like to get, but here is my question, on my 08gt auto, my d/s is not one piece, it's segmentated, but the alum d/s is a "one piece" is there a reason why my stock d/s is set up like that, could it be for vibration purposes, and if i put the alum d/s in, will it be alright. I like the notion that the alum d/s can handle up to 600hp, b-cuz in the near future i'm gonna have the whipple s/c put in. So, bottom line is, will the "one piece" d/s be alright. ?

I'd get a steel replacement instead. Cheaper and unlike Aluminum, it doesn't have a set life span. Plus, Steel shafts have a smaller diameter which trust me, if you ever have to work w/ the e-brake, that extra 1/2" is a blessing.

ok, so there is a "one piece" steal d/s that i can purchase. but why did they put a two piece d/s on the 08gt's, i figure it must me for a mechanical reason like vibration or something, or maybe it was cheaper 4 them, dunno. what is the weight diff between stl & alum. ?

yep, two piece jointed in the middle. one thing i found out, one reason is to stop vibration. And prolly from what some of you suggested. I will wait awhile longer, see if anybody has any problems with'em.

Ive had mine on for about 12K miles and its no stranger to sudden acceleration with no problems.
