Being an avid Ford F150 fan and previous owner I have heard and read alot about it. If you go to F150online,fordf150.net,fordtruckworld.com etc... they have lots of info on that swap on those sites. Its not to bad of a swap though I think your money is better spent on building a 5.4 and going with a different blower option.

you will need the motor, complete from blower inlet down and don't forget about the special brackets for the blower belt and associated pulleys. The underhood harness would be almost totally unnecessary. All the same hookups should work for the most part (though the longer 5.4 harness would be nice in places in all likelihood). You will NOT need the ECU since it's just a blower and we can all put blowers on our cars/trucks without an ecu swap (vortech makes kits).
For the most part there's no real difference between the two other than deck height. Just start swappin and everything will make sense. If you get stuck, give us a holler. It should probably take you a few days to finish everything.
BTW.... also upgrade your fuel pump. The stock f150 4.6L pump is almost certainly inadequate.
You may need an 8-bolt flexplate from any other 5.4L truck. Randy Stinchcomb in the Parts Desk can probably source that for you.
Lastly, Don't treat the lightning motor as bullet proof. It's only bullet resistant and they still do spit spark plugs and break rods when they're flogged too hard or the boost is raised unreasonably high. Ported heads are way worth it as are proper blower cams.
