Default Gear Help

My gears are sadly "****ed". When i go into 5th it grinds. Are there any solutions. Also, the past couple of days i have noticed when i shift into a gear it will sometimes sling shot back into neutral sending my rpms way high. WTF is going on.

What year is your car and what tranny do you have? How many miles? If there is a warrenty, take it back immediately.

Well since the tranny needs to be fixed, mind as well get a rebuild since you are in there. Sad, but its your best bet.
