Tensioner
How much force is required to release the tension on the accessory belt? The Haynes manual says to use a 1/2 breaker bar but the best I have is a 3/8" to 1/2" adaptor, old socket wrench, and a long rod which works fine for my wheels but probably won't do if more torque is needed.

Well, I figured muscle is required but what I'm concerned w/ is if wheel lug nuts torque to 100 ft-lbs can bend the handle on the socket wrench I use as a breaker bar, something torque down tighter will probably shear the 3/8" square portion.

I don't think it will take 100 ft lbs to release the tension on the belt. I would say no more that 80 ft lbs. I use a 3/8 socket wrench with a jack handle to get more leverage and had no isses. You should be ok, but as always anything can happen.
