why would you want to go from a sporty 5spd to a slushbox? normally ppl go the other way, to get rid of Ford shitty automatic.

I am going to boost the car and when you put good parts behind the auto they are a pretty good tranny and can hold some decent power.

It's still strange though since the norm is to go vice-versa, unless you are bracket racing or running the 1/4 in 8 seconds.

nope, not a one. maybe since it was an older 4R70W it wasn't as good as the newer ones....that is if they are any different, I dunno.

You sure that was a 4R70W and not an AOD/AODE? I know the earlier 4.6s had those.

I guess it can handle a ton of power compared to other auto transmissions yet still have consistent shifts..factoring out driver error when it comes to shifting.

Eh?

The 4R70W I had couldn't handle power at all. 210hp 4.6 killed it.
