Im New
Im 19 years old. Im on my 3rd mustang. currently a 2001 5spd v6. had a 5L fox and rolled it as my first car. had a 95 v6 auto and broke the front end being a dumbass showin off for a chick. theres an embarassing story.
anyways im looking at another v8 5 or 6spd but im searchin for a 94-98 should i go with a 5L 94-95 or a 4.6L? first question
second is, after i throw on some bolt ons and probably cam it ill end up putting either a turbo or sc on and im wonderin where i could get a better block for either of the cars( 94-95 or 96-98 ) cause i want to crank a few extra psi instead of the roughly usual 6psi on the stock block. im lookin at maybe 14-17 psi or if im feelin horney maybe go nuts and 21psi
what could/should i do

not trying to be mean or flame or whatever but here is a novel idea....
stop driving like an *** and grow the hell up!
im not saying you cant have fun in your cars but learn how to handle it man. take a defensive driving course, play around in a parking lot, maybe even do some SCCA stuff.... something. no wonder my insurance was so high when i was that age!!! :-D
i did stupid stuff too.... untill i had 2 friends die goofin off....

but anyways back to the original question which is a better car to mod the 5L 94-95 or the 4.6L 96-98?

lol ive only owned mustangs and its the only way to go. ive driven a gto, it was fun and all but not much for the look. driven a z06 but im way to dam cheep for thoes, they do fly tho. and ive always had a thing for mustangs. i fliped the fox cuz the dam gps said change lanes at the last dam second, i ended up slammin on the breakes for the sn95 cuz dam f***ing little kid thought it would be cool to c what happens if u throw a stick at a car. that was cool tho cuz i got his mom to pay for it and still ended up sellin the car( both ball joints, shocks, and a new fender and rad for those who wonder what i buggered up). each accident was legit, kinda just an unlucky person. so far at the track ive never even came close to killin myself

LOL z06.... your Dad have one or something? When you say your to cheap for one well no **** no way in hell can a 19 year old afford a 72K and up dollar car. I don't know man you have to get your **** together your 19 so you have had your license for 3 maybe close to 4 years give or take and you have been through 3 stangs!?!?! thats 1 car a year save the future amounts of mustangs on the market haha and stop killing them .
Ok I just read the rest of it and see you didn't wreck all of them but still going through a car a year give me a break
and to answer your original post I would go with the 4.6

I now know why people give me dirty looks, because they think of Dream when I say I am 20 and like to drive performance cars. I have owned five cars however all driven on the track, and totaled 0 of them.
Seriously though, you need to go to a real driving school (even if the stangs were not your fault), pretty much every major racetrack in the US has a school. If only for the reason that you plan on building a 400+rwhp car and can get yourself into a lot of trouble if you get in a bad situation, even one that wasn't caused by you. The classes are actually a load of fun.
As for your question I would go with the 4.6, its a more reliable engine IMO.
Then again the old "5.0"s are about 400lbs lighter than the SN95s.
P.S.
By "into a lot of trouble" I mean either you or the other guy/girl experiences a little thing called death, with enough force that if you/he/her were ressurected, you would die again, multiple times.

The 302 is a 5.0. Do the math (4*pi*3*8)=301.59ci=4.95L=5.0. Auto makers always round.
By the way, if you plan on going w/ boost, the 302 block can only take around 500 hp TOPS before the block splits. The 4.6 on the other hand, can take a beating beyond what's streetable (blockwise, not the internals).

I know what the 302 is, I was just stating that unless he gets one of the older foxs because of the weight, it wouldn't be worth it.
"5.0" is name people have for the old fox where I am from.
Sorry if it seemed like I meant something else, I figured when I made the comparison to the SN95 people would make the connection that I was talking about the cars, not the engines.
My bad.
Well then disregard my post, when I read through the thread the first time it sounded as if you had only been to skid school.
