Default 3.73's or 4.10's

i have a 01 bullitt and i am trying to decide between 3.73's and 4.10's. im sure the 4.10's will hurt my mpg's more then the 3.73's, so are they worth the gas??

i have searched and i have talked to people with 3.73s who claim they are far better then 4.10s because the "pros" do not exceed the "cons" therefore i would really like to hear from someone who has 4.10s.

Go with 4.10's. I actually had brand new 3.73's ready to install and decided to change to 4.10's and take a restocking fee. I was glad I went right to the 4.10's. Never looked back.

AS far as the gas milage thing there isn't hardly a difference between 3.73's and 4.10's in my opinion.

it wont hurt your gas milage that much. it is mainly if your 4th gear will max out before the 1/4 mile or if it goes past your powerband.

you need to decide where on your dyno graph your peak power is and you want to shift at that point and cross the 1/4 finish still in it.

which is the reason i am sticking with 3.73's and not 4.10's cause at 120mph in 4th i am still at 6200rpm's.

little to no difference in fuel economy between the two. I've heard that theoretically, you should get better gas mileage with day to day driving b/c the transfer of the torque is more efficient and enables you to get into overdrive faster (logic would say that probably is true as long as you keep your foot off the floor and any level of highway cruising kills that whole idea).

I've done 3.08; 3.23, 3.55, 3.73 and 4.10 and I really like my 4.10 the most in a non-power adder application..

3.73 are plenty for me a good all around gear if you dont do highway driving you can go real steep on the gear even 4.56 steep.

Your gas mileage wont change in the city providing you shift gears alot.
Cruise at like 50kph in 5th in the city:P haha

More gear will make you break your tires loose easier of course so if you have traction problems now multiply your problems....

Basically whatever gear you have atm take 2 steps up i would say.
If you have 3.55 jump 3.73 to 4.10 so you have a bigger change.

1 vote for 3.73!!!! if you have 4v go 4.10s

However myself i have never tried 4.10 im just happy with 3.73---for now:P

just make sure you put some gears in there, or you wont be able to drive the car.

Not to add fuel to the fire but if you will be adding a supercharger anytime in the future it should affect your decision as well.

a supercharger would be nice, but i think it will be a while before i can dish out that amount of cash.
