Default Shifting from 1st to 2nd during BURNOUT

I have just begun doing bournouts. This is what i do.

Put in 1st
Rev engine to 3 and a half
Release the clutch
Put foot on brake

My car does a sick burnout until i start to redline and i dont know how to get it in 2nd? If i let go of the brake and gas to shift wont the tires stop spinning?

Thanks

Start in first. Use the heel/toe method to bang in to higher gears. Keeps engine temps lower and tires spinning fastrer and warmer.
