I personally don't like BBK anything....that aside, I think JLT is probably the best intake out there....oh and the only way your going to get any power out of an intake for an 05+ GT is if you get the intake that requires the tuner.

Will it work the same or even make a difference if the factory computer is reprogramed with the intake?

the 3v engines are very sensitive (even more than my 4v) and anytime you add a part that brings in more air to the engine it will through off your A/F ratio and probably make you go really lean, which can harm the engine. The Tuner that comes with the will correct the A/F ratio and add other performance enhancements to your tune.

If you purchase an intake that says you don't need a tuner to fix the A/F it probably means that it's more than likely not bringing in any extra air to the engine....extra air=extra power....no air no power.

If you do get a good intake and tuner your 07 GT probably can see up to 15-20rwhp....which is a huge difference.

with 05+ you really need to put a tune on it.. even a box stock xcal2 tune. nothing is as irritating as having your car go into limp-home mode.

if you get it tuned for 92 or 93 octane, then run that octane in it. it'd be like having a cobra that runs off of premium fuel, and you putting the cheap stuff in it. it can make the engine ping and lead to detonation

you can get tuner that are tuned for the cai and make it so you can use 93 for more power or 87 when you wanna be cheap. And i couldn't agree more that if you get a cai that says you don't need a tune its crap on 05+ mustangs as all the good ones need a tune cause they pull in so much extra air.

zigg is correct. You MUST adjust the tune or they find themselves a way into limp home mode.
