Please help - advice is appreciated. I ordered the following after market (Taiwan) headlights from ProCarParts for my Laser Red 1998 Mustand GT convertible. I thought they would update the look alot and looked the best. They also had amber reflectors which are required in my state.

Product: FORD MUSTANG 1994-1998 G6 CHROME HOUSING CLEAR LENS D.O.T. TWIN ANGEL EYE PROJECTOR HEADLAMPS

I received the product and took the car to my competent auto service place and they said after an hour that the headlights do not fit. Even though ProCarParts says they sell many of these, my service people said that the corner portion of these one piece headlights could not recess in far enough. In other words, they stuck out. So I sent them back for a credit.

Is there something I am missing or unusual about my car. Does the fact that it is a convertible make a difference.

Alternatively, can you recommend other aftermarket headlights that will give my 98 a more up to date look (like the 1999's and thereafter)? Thank you for your help.

 

I havnt had any XP with those lights but another guy had the same prob on here not too long ago. He posted pics and showed how the lights didnt fit on the corners. And yep they "stuck out" too far on the corner. Its cool your getting your cash back though

 

Thanks for your reply. Anyone ever solve this problem? If not, what does anyone recommend as replacement of the OEM headlights to upgrade the front look of a 98 GT convertible? Color is Laser Red (the darker red).
