remove spoiler
I have a 97 gt vert. and last night when i was waxing my car i wanted to see that it looked like w/o the spoiler i liked it better, and since its the stock spoiler i know its jsut for looks. are there any kits out there to jsut cover up the holes incase i ever want to spend the money on a functional spoiler??

Only if you look at it.

ok soo was i right about the spoiler doing nothing but looks or does it have some effect. and you can buy plugs at lowes?? right or do i need to look at other places?? because i honestly think my car looks nice w/o the spoiler but still would keep it if i help enough IMO

at 150 miles an hour it will do something, otherwise its just for looks

The plugs will be visible, but only if somebody is standing next to your decklid, paying attention. I've seen a couple of black cars using the plugs, and suprisingly it doesn'y look bad. Most hardware stores whould have them.

describe the line. is it like dirtiness or oxidation or what? your best bet is probably to polish your trunk with the least abrasive polish you have. If that doesn't work, keep stepping up the abrasiveness one level at a time until you get the desired results. If you have a porter cable this is a pretty quick fix.

This problem just sucks. When I removed mine the spoiler had actually rubbed down throught the paint and into the primer. Then my Roush 4 post didn't cover the marks, so I had to have my entire deck lid painted. Turned out to be an expensive spoiler swap. Hopefully yours is not this bad.

mine is kinda like that. its a pretty deep rub but only at the back.. it looks like the spoiler was a little loose and just rubed and rubed .. give me a little while and i can get pics of it.. but that sucks bad.. i would hate to have to do that.

I'm guessing, espescially on black, it won't turn out very well. i couldn't even get my Torch Red to pass the cheap way and I had a spoiler over the top.

i think that i can get it looking pretty good. my last job was at a body shop, soo i know a few ways that i'm thinking about trying, like going with 600 wet sand and be very carefull and just sand the do over to smothe it out... or try something like that.. i know a few ways to make it look decent
