Default Cabin filter

Can anyone tell me where the cabin filter is located in my 2003 Mustang GT? How is it removed? Thanks!

well, I can tell you that your Mustang does not have a cabin filter, if that helps

Thanks for the laugh! I was thinking the same thing....there is none.

I got to ask, what made you think you needed a new one when none exists?

some taurus models have an air filter for the cabin fresh air function of the HVAC system. They're a PITA to find, a **** to change and nobody ever notices.

mustangs don't have them because we prefer exhaust to fresh filtered air. gives me a hardon... boy I tell eue whut

Sucks though when your driving behind a bus spewing smoke while driving up a steep hill and the heat on. Or if you're driving down the NJ Turnpike on a hot summer day around the Medowlands/Newark area. The Jersey smell is very pronounced there...

Cabin Air Filters are the future of most cars. Right now mainly high end priced cars or luxary cars. We've been making them for about 4 years now and that business is booming. Dedicated assembly line for it and another on the way..

The fairly new Mazda 6's have them. Its easy to get to as all you have to do is take to glove box out. My wife's car was making a tapping noise when you ran the heater fan and turns out it was the old filter.

The filter will come with detailed instructions for installation.. Most models will be behind the glove box and really not too difficult to remove box and install filter. The price of the filter may open your eyes though. Some filters use charcoal based paper elements. Good for odor filtration but very pricey (as far as paper in rolls). Most are just very thick felt like paper. More pricey than a regular air filter paper.. But if you have the dealer shop install one I would say it will cost more for labor than the actual filter..
