Default Water in the gas tank!

Well i got gas at my local gas station! I put the regular gas in the stang! While i was driving up to jacksonville to go to the moster jam it was sputtering and now the service engine light is on so I had a friend who works on mustangs look at and he said i have water in the gas tank, So tomrrow im going up to advance auto parts to get my car hooked up on the computer to see what error code is. So what would be thing to get gas out on my gas tank?

Depending on how much water is in the gas, they do have gas treatment that will help rid the water from the gas, getting water in the gas from station is not that uncommon it happens all the time

well their was enough to shut the car off and not crank up! i had a friend check the bleeder valve and their was alot of wanter in the tank! so i drained the tank out and out octane booster and 93 gas in the car to if that would get rid of the water! im told rubbing alcohol will get rid of it!

Had this happen a few times. Rubbing alcohol works and is the cheapest option. I haven't ever used it on a FI engine, though. I'm figure it doesn't matter; especially since the water removers at auto parts stores are basically rubbing alcohol.

Also gas line antifreeze(which is just methenol) works to get rid of water in your tank. Isopropyl alcohol also works fine as previously stated and neither will harm anything.I add methanol on a regular basis to mine....sometimes even some xylene or toluene too!!! Ya, I work at a chemical company.
