Default Need help with vin numbers

hello, newbe here.
I have a 70 Mach 1 with a 351W in it. We are rebuilding the motor right now. As we are rebuilding the motor I am getting all casting number, date codes and vin numbers. I will display them with the car once car is complete.

The vin number for the car is: 0F05134285

I have found a stamped number on the block where they would stamp a 429. This number is located on the rear face of the block just below the drivers side head. This number is: 9H598143

But I am wanting to match all numbers to this car. We also have a 63 Galaxie that I can not do this to for my husband has beef the engine and the only thing orginal to the car is the frame and the seats.

But if someone could please help me understand this stamping I have found on the block and what it means. And what is the best way to display all the casting numbers and date codes I have found on the car.

The numbers are just vin (vehicle idenification numbers) that are used to help identify a vehicle. unfortuntly, you might be SOL if you dont have matching numbers and would like them. The VIN numbers arent tracked at all so if you dont have them, chances are, you will never see them again. The frame of the vehicle is basically considered the vehicle, and thats the vin number that the title is going off of.

The 429 stamp that you found is just an idenification that its a 429 block.

She said that where 429/460 blocks where stamped, she found the code she provided us, remember, she said it was a 351W. Unfortunately, I can't help you w/ the matching. Try this site (fordmuscle.com), the guys on there are usually pretty good at VIN decoding the older cars.

I can decode your VIN later tonight but I can't help you with the engine coding unless it's a special model.

It'll be tomorrow before I can get back at this topic with the decoded VIN but I will if nobody else has a reference book handy.
