Default obd code p0401...grrrr

about a month ago, my SES light came on. i scanned it and the code came up as P0401 which is related to the EGR valve. we took the valve out, checked it, and there was no flow getting through the valve at all so it was replaced.

disconnected the battery after replacing the valve so the light would go off, and it stayed off for about 10 days. during that time i went for my emissions test, and it was rejected. they told me to drive ~100 miles and come back. today on my way home the light came back. i scanned it again, same code is back. the guy at autozone said there could be carbon deposits in other locations near the valve, any ideas?

lookin around the forums ive spotted Badfish's Seafoam writeup @ https://mustangboards.com/the-refere...ghlight=carbon

this might help to clean out any carbon buildup thats blocking flow, no?
