Default Help. I busted my new mustang.

I took out the factory stereo in my 2000 mustang today, to put in an after market one I pulled from my old ride.

The wires matched perfectly, but when I pluged it all in, it didn't work.

Then, when I pulled it back out and put the OEM radio in, it doesn't work either.

Is there some sort of anti-theft device at work here that I don't know about?

How do I fix this?

Did you unplug the battery when you did this?

I did not unplug the battery.

I checked the fuses under the dash. They all look okay, but it's dark out. I was planning on cheking them again in the daylight.

Are there fuses anywhere else?

There are some in the engine bay. But I dont know if any of those have anything to do with the radio. Im at school so I cant check my manual.

Thanks anyway.

I really haven't done much trouble shooting. I was kinda miffed, and needed to step away from it.

I was hoping somebody would say, like, "Oh, everybody knows that you have to XXXXXX to defeat the anti-theft device." Or, something.

I've got my cell phone charger plugged into the cig lighter and the light is on, so it must have power.

disconnect the batt from now on to be safe...

As far as your problem... Check fuses, ground, all those little connections...

thats basicly all you can do

Default Pins

if you have not figured out the problem and your fuses are gooed check the pins in both the connectors and radio, the wires will be the same coor code how ever the pins could be different and may have bent one while connecting the two together

Hey, thanks y'all. It was one of the fuses under the hood.
