Default Accufab Install Trouble

I am installing an Accufab 70mm throttle and plenum this morning. I have everything hooked back up except the PCV valve that conects to the metal stem on the bottom right. The stem (I don't know if that is the right word) on the Accufab is so much larger than the stock throttle I don't see how this is supposed to fit.

Please don't tell me to drive to Autozone and get a new one. My wife is gone for a week. And I dont want to swap out throttles for a ten minute drive.

The stem is bigger than the hose or the stem is smaller than the hose? If the stem is smaller, then you need to make the stem bigger with a piece of hose (the ID fits the stem and the OD fits inside of the PCV line) then clamp them all together with a hose clamp) If the stem is bigger than the hose you can either splice a bigger piece of hose on or just clamp it down with a hose clamp. The 4.6 cam out with different sizes of PCV lines so there is a tendency to mismatch and ultimately, it will probably warrant a drive to autozone to piece something together.

Allright, I dug up some spare tubing and jury rigged up something. But in the process I snapped the plastic piece that runs out of the hose and to the engine. I taped it up and the car starts but runs very very rough.

Is it ok to drive a few miles like this and get some new parts? Or do I need to call someone. I assume this is all from the PCV valve. Is there anything else I could have done in the installation of a accufab and Steeda CAI to cause this?

You did remember to hook up the MAF sensor when you were done? I say that because I've forgotten it a few times.

Sounds like a vacuum leak, could be from the broken piece? Could also be from the CAI. Spray around some carb cleaner and see where the RPM's increase. That will tell you if you have a leak

The MAF question is a good one. The car had the generic CAI that Mustang Tuning sells for around $80.00. When I was swapping it out for the steeda there was a black cord from the MAF that plugged into the tubing on the old CAI. The Steeda does not seem to have any place for this to plug into so it just sitting there right now. I am sure this is not good and had forgotten about it, until you asked. Not sure what this is or how to hook it into the Steeda CAI.

that black cord was for the air temp sensor which used to be housed up the snorkel tube a bit from the MAF. The MAF from 94-01 used a 4 wire plug and had the ATS downstream a few inches. In 02 they changed the MAF to a 6 wire which incorporated the ATS into the MAF element.

You need to remove the ATS from your old intake snorkel and install it into your new cai snorkel. Without the ATS installed you'll probably get a code or crappy running. If you want any other help, please tell us what year and model you have and if possible post a pic of the areas you're having trouble with. Makes it easier for us to figure out your problem.

Got it working. It was an issue with the air temp sensor. I just used the old intake tube and will drill on in the Steeda later.
