Default race fuel

i have only heard about/seen this at 1 sunoco ever but my friend convinced me to try some today ... its 100 octane fuel that they use in nascar races and is 8 dollars a gallon, so we put in 10 bucks for 1.25 gallons and omg ... it felt like a completely dif. car, wayyy quicker ... anyone else heard of/used this before??

Not a good thing to use at all and a total waste of money.

Your car is not intended to run that high of octane. The fuel will not burn properly. If you mixed it with other gas you will be fine.

yea..just like the others said..it will hurt your performance....the higher the octane, the harder it is for the engine to ignite the gas. you would only use 100 oct. for High compression cars, forced inducted car (high psi), and car that have an extreame timing setting to go faster

87 oct should do fine..since the gas stations here have switched to their winter blend, ive been using 89...a lil more expensive but it smoothed out my idle..

i ran 100 oct, 2 gals when my car ran out of gas at a road course but i went directly to the gas station after to fill up with 87. car sure ran great but i didnt beat on the car because i wasnt sure how it would react. the car was still on the stock tune and on the way back, the car seemed to run a lot better, smoother, and was a little more touchy to gas.

Exactly what Lance said...

You want to run the LOWEST octane you can without running into problems such as dentonation. Itll also ruin your 02's and wideband if you have one.
