Oil level on dipstick?

Oil level on dipstick?
The manual calls for 5 quarts of oil, but after I have fully drained all my oil and added 5 quarts back, the oil line is always about .5cm to.8cm over the full line on my dipstick. Is this normal? Should I be worried at all about overfill?

Run 5.5 QTS.
I know for a fact that the the specs sometimes can be wrong. I have an 01 cobra mustang and am running 6.75 QTS of oil in it even though the manual says 6. I have heard to many horror stories of people spinning bearing and ****ing up there car by this.

i put 5.5 quartes in my 96 gt figureing a 1/2 quarte for the oil filter---yet still my low oil light cam on once in a while and also on the dipstick it barely mmesured anything--i let it go like that for 2 weeks then just added the other half quart and now everything is good no light-dipstick reads a lil low but its fine..

My manual calls for 6 and since the engine was the same from 96-04 (besides heads), I would assume it's the same. Also, the Redline power packs for the 96-00 and 01-04 Mustangs use the same amout on oil (6qt). 5 quarts were used in the old 302.
P.S: An autoparts store usually isn't the best place to get your info. For example, CarQuest was trying to convince me that the 8.8" was only in trucks and that they said the gasket that they found for me was for my car (though it was for a Dana rear since it had the characteristic shape of one).

lol this is like a huge problem.. it's a myth of how much damn oil to run in your car. My manual also says 5.. autozone will tell me 6... research on the internet tells me 5.5.. and then i seen a screenshot from a ford mechanic saying to use 5.25. I use 5.5.
